At Roundwood, as part of our Physical Education curriculum, our children in Years 4 and 5 attend swimming and water safety lessons at the Swan Pool in Buckingham. Children are required to do the following:

• perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations.
• swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres

When your child reaches this year group, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire to audit their swimming skills to ensure they are put in the most appropriate group for their skillset.

At Roundwood, we have been graded as a “green” school which is a sign of recognition for schools whose results in the School Swimming Governor Checklist demonstrate Safe Practice in the delivery of their School Swimming Programme.
