Home School Agreement
Please read our Home School Agreement with your child so they know and understand our commitment to them. It is also in place to confirm parents and carers are working with the school to ensure the best possible learning experience for your child.
The school will:
- Ensure each child is happy and motivated
- Treat each child as a unique individual, who can become whoever they want to be
- Nurture the whole child; academically and most importantly socially and emotionally
- See all behaviour as a form of communication
- Set high expectations for learning and encourage all children to reach their full potential
- Encourage all children to set short, medium and long-term aspirations that they achieve
- Create a sense of belonging for each child in a safe and secure environment in which children feel loved, cared for, nurtured and confident
- Provide timely information to parents and carers to inform them of their child’s learning progress, and what they can do to support at home
- Share in good relationships with parents and carers, promoting a shared responsibility towards their child’s learning between school and home
- Promote how we respect parents and carers views and feedback
- Be there for the whole family, in times of need to support and assist in any way that we can
Parents and carers will:
- Ensure that their child attends school every day and arrives on time 8:45am at Tingewick and 9:00am at Gawcott, and is collected on time at 3:15pm at Tingewick and 3:30pm at Gawcott
- Report their child’s absence by 8:30am on the first day of absence
- Ensure their child is adhering to the school uniform policy and is equipped with water bottle, book bag, sports uniform and other items as requested
- Support and follow the school’s homework approach to ensure children are regularly revisiting learning from the classroom to strengthen their knowledge and understanding
- Return spelling and reading books, along with reading record weekly to ensure these can be replaced
- Attend parents evening, school events and read all school communication to ensure they are actively involved in their child’s education
- Promote the school’s restorative approach to behaviour which encourages children to identify their feelings and needs, and how they can repair any harm caused as a result of their actions
- Embrace all children as individuals, entitled to their own beliefs and promote this in all forms of conduct and communication
- Discourage any form of physical behaviour or child on child abuse, and will work alongside the school to limit this
- Support and follow school policies, bearing in mind the school is a Local Authority School and is governed by policies and procedures set by them
- Support school in keeping their child safe whilst online; reflecting on guidance available on the school’s website
- Share information with the school that may affect their child’s current learning; all pieces of information are significant and will be treated with confidentiality

Children will:
- Work hard to demonstrate all of our school values: happiness, responsibility, respect, honesty, courage, resilience and curiosity
- Be respectful to all children, adults and our school environment

All stakeholders of Roundwood Primary School will remember: In a world where we can be anything, we will choose to be kind and respectful always. We are working together to build human beings and create our future society. It is the most important job; working together as one, will ensure strength and success.
We ask that you read the Home School Agreement with your child and give examples where possible to support their understanding. A signed record will be kept on your child's file.
