Safeguarding / Child Protection
Safeguarding
At Roundwood Primary School, Safeguarding and Child protection is paramount to our practice with all staff trained annually in Keeping Children Safe in Education, PREVENT and Child Protection along with half termly updates.
We have two members of staff who hold the Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification for Safeguarding:
- Mrs Leigh Handley – Headteacher
- Mrs Ellie Clarke – Deputy Headteacher
The Governor responsible for safeguarding is Jen McGrath.
If you have any concerns regarding the safety of a child or a family at the school, please speak to either Mrs Handley or Mrs Clarke.
As well as speaking to Mrs Handley or Mrs Clarke, parents and carers can also make referrals through https://www.buckssafeguarding.org.uk/childrenpartnership/reporting-a-concern/report-a-concern/
CPOMS
All safeguarding, behaviour and welfare concerns are documented via CPOMS (Child Protection Online Monitoring System) which allows us to securely record and monitor all the information we hold on a child in one secure place. It also uses an alert system to make DSL's aware of incidents and concerns to ensure we act promptly and effectively.
Recruitment
Along with our Safeguarding practice, as a school, we place a huge emphasis on Safer Recruitment, which is an integral part of our recruitment process. It is always part of the checking process of potential candidates along with at least one member of the interviewing panel holding a Safer Recruitment qualification.
The following members of the school and governing body have completed Safer Recruitment Training:
- Mrs Leigh Handley – Headteacher
- Mrs Clarke – Deputy Headteacher
- Mrs Jen McGrath - Chair of Governors
- Mrs Claire Groves – Governor
