Personal Development
At Roundwood Primary school each pupil has a personal development passport. The personal development passport is full of activities, experiences and events that children will work towards and achieve over the year.
Why have we developed a personal development passport?
- To spark excitement for pupils and staff
- To inspire
- To create awe and wonder
- To further promote our school values
- To offer a balance between academic and holistic
- To teach lifelong skills
- To give opportunities that children may never experience elsewhere
- To build our future society
Within the passport, we have five categories:
- Inspire Me - to develop and discover their interests and talents
- Future Me - prepares learners for future success in their next steps
- Shape Me - prepares learners for life in modern Britain
- Build Me - wider work support learners to develop their character
- Take Me - trips and experiences to enhance the curriculum
How will children use the passport?
Children will be given the opportunity to work towards their passport during curriculum time and in planned enrichment sessions. Achievements will be celebrated via Marvellous Me and during our celebration assemblies when children achieve an activity or experience.
What does this mean at home?
There is no additional workload for parents and carers, just the opportunity to celebrate in your child’s achievements and experiences. As always, if you feel you could support us due to your own experience and / or job role, please get in touch with your child’s class teacher. If you ever achieve one of the passport tasks at home, please share via your child’s dip and do homework book (Years 1 – 6) or via Tapestry (Foundation).
Further information
Children will keep their passports in school, in order to keep them safe and to take them with them each year, to the next year group. Passports will always be available at parents evening for you to see.
It could be that with changing cohorts, needs and curriculum, we update the passport from time to time. We will always share these updates with parents and carers.
