FRSA
Roundwood School is a small and thriving primary school with around 200 students split between an infant site in Tingewick and a junior site in Gawcott. The FRSA (Friends of Roundwood School Association) is a group of parents who help raise funds for the school. Over the last few years, the money raised has been used to purchase new books, resources for the outside learning areas and to subsidise many trips for the children. We have also contributed to bigger projects including purchasing a much-needed school minibus, contributing to a new adventure outdoor play area in Gawcott, and raising money for outdoor classrooms to be built at both sites. We hold discos and movie nights, quiz nights, summer fetes and Christmas fairs... we are always looking for new ideas so please share if you have any fundraising suggestions.
Since Covid, which has impacted so many people in so many ways, the FRSA has focused on ensuring that everything we do encompasses 3 Fs - Friendships, Fundraising, and Fun. We want as many activities as possible to offer an opportunity for parents to socialise and get to know each other better, whilst the children have a lot of fun. Through these activities, we raise much needed funds to ultimately provide our children with better facilities that support their Roundwood journey.
Many of the previous FRSA members have moved on as their children have grown up and left Roundwood, so our ambition is to bring a new committee together made up from parents across the different year groups in school. We know people are busy (all the FRSA members are also working mums) so we don't really do long meetings and most communication is done through messages/Whatsapp or a quick chat at pick up. We don't take ourselves too seriously and make sure that being part of things is enjoyable. If you want to learn more or be involved, please contact the school and they will put you in touch.
